Our Story

A family's passion
rooted in the New River Valley

New River Vineyard & Winery is a family endeavour built on a shared love of Virginia wine and the land that nurtures it. Christy Wallen, together with Mike, Anthony, and Elizabeth, set out to create a winery that felt like home — intimate, welcoming, and deeply connected to this corner of Southwest Virginia.

From the vines at 6750 Falling Branch Rd to the last pour in the tasting room, every decision is made with the same intention: to produce wines the New River Valley can be proud of, and to share them in a setting that honours the beauty of the land they come from.

In 2025, readers across the New River Valley recognised what regulars have known for years — awarding New River Vineyard the Best Winery in the New River Valley title in the annual Readers Choice awards.
